Since up-issue to both v127 & v128 SQX returns an Error message (see screenshot) during launch. This message does not appear to prevent SQX from running ok, but issue of this Error message is concerning. Please can you investigate and resolve before next version: v129

Same Error message occurs whether I launch SQX using StrategyQuantX.exe or StrategyQuantX_nocheck.exe

Did you try fresh installation?

See attached copy of latest log file

can you please execute application this way: StrategyQuantX_nocheck.exe --l4j-debug-all
This creates launch4j.log file, which should contains some details about the startup process.
And some question:
- whats your OS?
- the error message you have sent is shown before any other applications windows?
Attachment launch4j.log added
See attached launch4j.log file. Please note that when executing application using: StrategyQuantX_nocheck.exe --l4j-debug-all, the Error message did not appear. But did appear when previously executing application usual way: StrategyQuantX.exe
My OS is: Windows 10 Pro; Version 1909; OS build 18363.836
I have only ever seen this Error message with SQX v127 & v128
I hope the above helps
Thanks

Hi, thanks for the log, I can't see any problem there :-(
I have some ideas what to try:
- I see in the log, that you are running application with parameter: -Xmx30g - could you try to remove this param and run it again?
- "module could not be found" - it looks that some dll of java runtime couldn't be found (interesting is that application is executed) - isn't posibble that antivirus, you are using, detected a virus in SQx folder and blocked some dll? Could you check, that some files from application folder isn't in antivirus quarantine please?
Thanks for responses. See my comments below:
- I have checked all instances of SQX application files 'StrategyQuantX.exe', 'StrategyQuantX_nocheck.exe' and Start menu 'Shortcuts' items (which I always use to launch SQX). But in none of them can I find parameter: -Xmx30g. So I don't know why this was shown in log sent, nor do I know how to remove if not in these particular file Property window. Please advise if parameter: -Xmx30g - is located elsewhere.
- I have checked the Antivirus (Bitdefender Total Security) Quarantine listing, on both my PC's, but neither currently contain any items. Though this is not surprising, as my current Quarantine Settings 'delete content older than 30 days'.
Please advise if you need me to check anything else.
Thanks

Hello,
I'm out of any ideas. you are the only one who has similar problem. Did you try our latest development version?
What about if you try tu run application as an admin? did you try it?
Thanks for your message. No I have not upgraded to latest development version of SQX, and am unlikely to do so until SQX v129 is formally released.
Problem persist whether I launch SQX with or without admin.
Seems to only happen upon 1st launch following PC re-boot/re-start. Though difficult to tell as I run SQX continuously between a weekly re-start. This morning same error message was issued on both my PCs, following weekly re-start, across all 3x instances of SQX that I run.
Though a little concerning, it is not a big issue as SQX still seems to run fine.
Thanks

I have recently upgraded SQX on both my PC's to v129. Plus both my PC's are now running with latest Windows 10 Pro build 19041.450. However, the same Error message still persists upon initial launch of each instance of SQX v129, after re-boot or re-start of PC. Though, if I then close-down SQX and re-launch, without re-boot or re-start of PC, the Error message does not recur.
I hope this info is of help.
Thanks

Does problem occure on both of your computer? Its really strange. You are the only one who reported this problem, and you have two computers and both are problematic :-(
Both of your computer uses Bitdefender Total Security antivirus?
What about absolutely clean installation as kainc301 recommended?
Thanks.
No, I installed v129 as an auto-upgrade, as I have always do. I did not know that .zip method was considered a cleaner install. Please can provide instruction for .zip method install, while retaining all previous user setup + defaults, and I will attempt a re-install using .zip method. If you can provide this instruction by end of today, I will do this tomorrow before I undertake my weekly PC maintenance and re-start.
Thanks

Yes, identical Error response on both my PC's. Also, both PC's utilize same version of Bitdefender Total Security antivirus.
Thanks

on this url: https://api.strategyquant.com/downloads?code=sqxzip
you can find and download latest ZIP version. Just download it, unzip somewhere on your computer, for example: c:/strategyquant_test, copy *.lic files from original installation folder and execute.
All your setting should be stored in 'user' folder. If you copy this folder to the new installation location, you should get the identical application's settings and data.
Yes,I tried clean installation from Zip file on both my PC's last Sat. Result was that 1x PC returned no Error message, but other PC still did. I will check both PC's again on Sat, when I next do my weekly PC maintenance and re-start.
Thanks AC1962
Thanks! I will try this out this weekend. I assume when you say turn off GPU acc I switch this off within Chrome, as per instruction below:
https://www.howtogeek.com/412738/how-to-turn-hardware-acceleration-on-and-off-in-chrome/
Is this correct? If not please advise.
Thanks

Hi Petr
I have tried the suggestions from both kainc301 & mabi (thanks both): clean install of SQX v129 from latest Zip file; disable GPU in Chrome.
Unfortunately neither suggestion has resolved the issue. Following restart of my 2x PC's today, both issued the same Error message upon launch of SQX.
Thanks
