Saving settings does not automatically append .XML

At least for me it is the case that if I try to save the settings to an XML file and type in the filename (while XML is selected in the dropdown menu below), the file is saved without an extension still (e.g. "My Settings." instead of "My Settings.XML"). I have to explicitly type "My Settings.XML" as the filename).
