Strategyquant RC3 doesn't open

I installed the new version in a new folder and it worked fine but after restarting my computer it didn't work anymore. When i do double click sq4 RC3 it just shows the starting page with the word "starting..." after a few minutes it just closes and nothing else happens. I had to install the RC2 again and that works but after like 10 times installing RC3 in a new folder or upgrading RC2 I couldn't get this to work... Never before happend it so I don't know what to do.

I'm sorry for this kind of problems, but it works for most other users. Could you send me a log from your RC3 installation after you try to start it?

It can be found in /user/log/StrategyQuant

This is the log, I tried different things like updating the RC2 and other things in that folder, i'm not at home now but as soon as I can i'll reinstall in a new folder open it and send you that log which will only have one attempt of starting the strategyquant 4. Anyways thank you for the help, at least I can use the RC2 and you are really doing a very good job, strategyquant 4 is great.

This bug seems to be related to the new 64-bit Chromium browser we added in RC3. 


Can you try one thing? In your RC3 installation find file StrategyQuant4.config, open it in Notepad and change the line:

display gpu

to

display cpu


Then save it and try to start SQ4 again. This disables GPU acceleration, perhaps this is what causes the problem.

Hello,

it looks that your issue is caused by new chromium libraries.

Lets try to replace these libraries by previous ones.


Could you try this solution, please?


- download and uzip http://autoupdate.strategyquant.com/browser/browser.zip

- this package contains 2 jar files

- copy files to (folder of RC3 application)/internals/libs (overwrite original files)

- run SQ4

Status changed from New to Fixed

jxbrowser libraries replaced by 6.20 version which is stable and working - will be included in RC4
