[Build 118] Loss of Tick Data During Updates

Every time I install an update, it overwrites/erases all of the tick data I have downloaded.  It can take more than a day to re-download all of the data I have been working with.  There has to be a way to set up the file structure so that data doesn't have to be re-imported every couple of weeks when there is a new version of the platform.

how exactly are you making an upgrade?

Upgrade doesn't overwrite anything in /user folder, update ZIP doesn't even have this folder, so it cannot overwrite anything.

It can happen only if you overwrite your installation with a ZIP of full installation, do you do it like this?

I don't see how else I would edit it.  There is no notification email push, so I only know a new build is available when it is the new download on the website.  When I run that, it overwrites everything, however it does retain my license code so that is not an issue.  Is there another way to update for the new builds?  Although I'm not a developer I'm pretty handy with computers , and it wasn't obvious to me.

I'm still not sure how you do it. Do you download installer again and install the newest version to the same folder? This will overwrite your settings, but this is not how update should look like.

If you are starting StrategyQuantX.exe it checks for updates on start, and it will update automatically. Don't you see notification about new update there?

If you want to do update manually, you can download update from our website but download the one in section labeled StrategyQuant X update to latest version as ZIP archive

This is a ZIP archive that you'll just unzip to your current SQ folder. it will update everything and it won't overwrite your custom settings or data.

This has happened to me (using auto-updater at start) since 115...I now do a fresh install each time and download everything again - a pain, but copying across the user folder just led to a very unstable experience.

I have never seen an update notification when opening the platform.  I only know there is one available when I check the website periodically so that I can have the newest version.  I will look for the "update as ZIP archive" next time, but I haven't seen this before.
