SQ 121 Crashes (does not launch)

Dear StrategyQuant Team,

after update to SQ build 121, SQ does no longer launch (crashes instead).
The splash screen appears, remains visible for about 2-3 seconds and then disappears.
StrategyQuant crashed.
No new log file entry is being written under SQ\user\log.

System: Windows 10 Pro, Intel Core i9-7960X@2.80GHz, 128 GB RAM, Asus X299 SAGE/10G, Asus GeForce RTX 2080, Adaptec Raid 1 (2x Samsung SSD 2TB)

I reverted back to SQ 120 via backup.

Kind regards

Do you have installed ZULU ? If yes, you need to deinstall this.

Looks like it could be some Java environment issue (ZULU is a Java Application). As a Java Developer, I have some Java settings (JAVA_HOME and Path pointing to AdoptOpenJDK 11). However, this should not affect an Application as it should bring its own JRE and settings. Can you please fix this asap?

I have override with:

StrategyQuant X update to latest version as ZIP archive (always latest build)

Use if you want to manually update from previous version. Simply download and unpack it to your existing SQ installation.

It will NOT overwrite your existing data or settings.

SQX do not start ( no Zulu), no backup of build 120 :-(

AMD Ryzen i7-2700X, 8 Core

Where can I download build 120?

Diwi, your problem seems to be different. The problem I observed does not even show the SQX main GUI. On my machine, SQX already crashes while showing the splash screen, before showing the main GUI.

It is not a problem with Zulu.

Please delete file \internal\web\SQUANT\filesMD5.txt and try to run SQ again.

I removed a Java JDK (AdoptOpenJDK 11) from the Windows PATH variable. Now SQ starts again.

So this is an SQ issue because SQ should not be affected by a JDK which is installed in the Windows system.

I just tried it - I installed AdoptOpenJDK 11, then tried to run SQ.

it runs without any problems and in the log I see it uses its internal Java, not the one from JAVA_HOME. It is configured to use only its internal java, which is in /j64 folder.

I'm not sure what exactly caused problems in your case, have you tried it with clean SQ install?

As a Java developer, I have lots of Java specific environment variables set. I deleted JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS, JAVA_HOME, JDK_HOME and the Java PATH entry. Now it works. I did not try a "clean" SQ install (whatever that is, exactly).
