SQX v130 – WFM Edit Parameter - Unable to 'Cancel' the Strategy Parameter window

Hi Mark

Using SQX v130: upon opening the WFM Edit Parameter window, the window effectively locks-up SQX, as the 'Cancel' link does not work to close-down the Strategy Parameter window. Though both the Enable symmetric variables and Save button appear to function, it is not possible to exit this window, other than by forcing SQX to exit. Please can you investigate and resolve for next up-issue of SQX.
Also the Strategy Parameter window is mostly blank, except for switch 'Enable symmetric variables'. See attached screenshot.

Thanks for quick response.

Not sure which log file you need, but see attached the following latest 2x log files, from folder C:\StrategyQuantX_02\user\log:


  1. log_2021_01_05.log
  2. launcher_2021_01_05.log

FYI: 'StrategyQuantX_02' is the instance of SQX in which I noticed this problem. If not the correct log files, please clarify which log files you require.

Thank you, that's just what I needed.

Unfortunately, there's no info about the stuck UI in the logs.


Does this problem happen often or was it just a one time problem?

Is there any way how to reproduce this issue?

This problem appears to occur each time I try and close the Strategy Parameters Edit window of a WFM study. I have just re-launched SQX v130, loaded a previous WFM *.sqx file, opened the Strategy Parameters edit window. And exactly the same problem occurred: I could not Close the Strategy Parameters edit window; I had to force SQX to close-down. See attached copy of log files from this session, plus a screenshot of the Strategy Parameters edit window.

I hope this helps you identify the bug.

This problem appears to persists with each strategy I load into SQX, whether loaded into Retester and Optimizer.

See attached copy of a typical strategy (I did try and post a WFM Results strategy file, but the file size was too large). Plus copy of latest log files, following 3x consecutive failed attempts to 'Cancel' the Strategy Parameter edit window, each time forcing me to Exit SQX.

I've also checked if this problem occurs with another instance of SQX on the same PC, and it does.

It is disappointing to read that you: are unable to replicate this bug; have moved milestone from Build 131 to 132.

I'm sorry, but I am trying multiple times with a bunch of strategies, even trying multiple instances, but it works for me.

Do you have the exact same menu in your SQ? 

Is your SQ a clean full installation of build 130 or updated older version?

My SQX v130 installations were all v130 updates from older v129. I have therefore download SQX Zip file to create new clean full installations for each SQX instance, and problem is now solved.

It also appears that the new clean full installations for SQX has significantly improved SQX Build performance, across both my PCs. Though automatic and easier, I will avoid using SQX upgrade-from-old in future.
